Gurbani a favorite at Usha Ladies

Gurgaon golfer Gurbani Singh is set to tee off as favorite to win the USHA-Chandigarh Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship, 2013. She is on the Top of current Order of Merit of Indian Golf Union (IGU).

October 1, 2013. Gurgaon golfer Gurbani Singh is set to tee off as favorite, to win the Usha-Chandigarh Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship, 2013. She is on the Top of current Order of Merit of Indian Golf Union (IGU). She will have a better advantage this time as her staunchest rival Aditi Ashok of Bangalore is not playing in the tournament. Gurbani is high on confidence, as she will be defending her title of best Ladies Amateur Golfer of the country title.

 

As many as 41 golfers will vie for the title at the picturesque Chandigarh Golf Club. The three-day event will be played over 54 holes. The tournament will be played between October 2- 4.

 

The 17-year-old, Gurbani has given consistent performance in past few years. She has been among top 10 on Ladies Tour for the past four years, and last year she ended at the top of the Ladies Tour ranking. This year too, she is enjoying a healthy lead so far. She is likely to face some challenge from third-ranked Millie Saroha at Chandigarh.

 

Other golfers to watch out for include Gauri Monga, Ridhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal. They will be looking forward to improve their rankings through the tournament.
