India Golf Awards 2016: Amitabh Kant to be the chief guest

March 07, 2016: The TAKE Solutions Indian Golf Awards 2016 are round the corner and the team is working round the clock to arrange a memorable night in New Delhi. Amitabh Kant, a 1980 batch IAS officer from Kerala will honour the evening with his presence as the chief guest. Shri Kant is the officer behind the successful Incredible India campaign and currently the CEO of NITI Ayog.

Amitabh Kant is also an avid golfer and his presence at the awards ceremony will add lustre to the evening. As the guest of honour for the ceremony, Shri Kant will address the gathering and offer some valuable insights to help advance the game of golf in India.

The widely respected official works actively with young India and is the brain behind the Make in India and Startup India campaigns, being promoted by the government to establish a sustainable platform for growth in India.

He was also in Delhi during Tiger Woods’ visit to India and has watched the great golfer play the game. Shri Kant also have several friends on the Japan Golf Tour, having toured their extensively to perform his duties as an officer of the IAS.

Shri Kant will hand over some of the most prominent awards of the evening and interact with the young golfers that are expected to attend the awards ceremony.

The awards next week will ensure that a new tradition that began in 2013 will deepen its relationship with the golfers by recognising excellence in golf for the third time. The awards also serve to acknowledge the valuable role of corporate benefactors in the battle for existence of golf in India.

Most importantly the India Golf Awards 2016 will fill a huge void and spur our golfers to greater heights in the pursuit of the elegant game.
