June 6, 2014. Jeev Milkha Singh and Gaganjeet Bhullar made the cut at Lyoness Open in Austria even as the cut fluctuated significantly till the very last minutes. Jeev scored three over 147. Gaganjeet Bhullar signed off with a score of four over 148. Indian mate SSP Chowrasia with a six over slipped outside the tournament.

Jeev started with the front nine today and managed to bag a birdie in the third hole. As compared to the first round, he could not gain enough birdies in the front nine today. Infact, the five bogeys in the challenging second round made it look quite tough for Jeev. However despite the average scoring he still managed to make the cut tied at the 60th position along with Eduord Dubois and Michael Hoey. Gaganjeet Bhullar played quite well in the first round but his shots in the second round earned him six bogies and one double bogey in the twelfth hole. This mostly disappointed Bhullar but with two more rounds to go he is hoping to garner some ground.

The tournament’s leader Mikael Lundberg described it as “not a complete shock” after finding himself top of the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity leaderboard at the halfway stage.

The Swede made the most of ideal morning conditions to reach nine under par and boost his chances of a first European Tour victory in six years.

Lundberg added a 68 to his opening 67 at Diamond Country Club to finish one shot ahead of playing partner Lee Slattery.

“I hit a lot of good shots early on and managed to make some putts, so that got my confidence up,” said Lundberg.

“It’s a nice feeling when you get your distance control right with your wedges, because it takes a lot of pressure on your putting.
