Jeev misses cut at Bridgestone Open

October 25, 2013. Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh is yet to catch up with his original game, he carded a disappointing five-over 76 on second day to slip to 87thplace at the end of the second round of the Bridgestone Open 2013.

 

His start at the tournament itself was not up to the mark when he ended tied 66th with a three- over 74 in the first round.

 

Jeev, who has been hit by injuries and has made just one cut since his withdrawal at the BMW PGA Championships in May, carded 74 and 76 and missed the cut by a big margin.

 

Jeev started on the tenth and had two bogeys on the back nine and three more on the front stretch of the course with one double bogey. He also had two birdies but that could not save him.

 

Jeev struggled on his back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey to card a five-over 76 and miss the cut at the Bridgestone Open.

 

Jeev, who has been hit by injuries is playing his fourth eventof the season, is likely to miss the halway cut set at 60.

 

Meanwhile,  Daisuke Maruya(68-67) shares the lead with the champion of the past two years Toru Taniguchi (67-68), with a spledid four under 67 at the end of round 2.  Taniguchi who has won the event three times overall, was in the lead with the same score in first round but ended his second day with three-under 68 to equal the score of theleader.

 

Korea’s Eun-shin Park (71-64) ended third on the leader board with eight players three shot behind them.

 

Jeev was only Indian playing at JP 150,000,000 event being held at Sodegaura Golf Club in Japan.
