May 19, 2017: Indian trio of Jeev Milkha Singh, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Shiv Kapur had an exceptional day at the office, in the second round of Thailand Open. The statesman of Indian golf turned in a stellar round of golf on Friday to surge up the leaderboard. Gaganjeet Bhullar continued his outstanding run with another fine performance. Shiv Kapur too joined in the party with a 67 to add to his 70 from the first round.

Jeev’s round was remarkable. The 45-year-old fired five birdies on the outward stretch before adding three more on his way back to the clubhouse. Jeev climbed 42 spots to T6 after an even 71 in the first round left him on T48 yesterday.

The ace Indian has made some recent tweaks to his driving, which seems to be paying dividends. Jeev kept a clean sheet in the second round with no bogeys from start to finish.

Bhullar is in the midst of turning in another outstanding round of golf. At the time of this report, Gaganjeet was lying in T2 at four under through 14 holes. He had scored a fine 65 in the first round on Thursday.

Bhullar was two off the pace at 10-under. Jeev is a further two strokes behind his Indian colleague.

Shiv Kapur rediscovered the spring in his step since winning the Yeangder Open. After suffering some lapses and paying for them in the first round, Shiv was back to his elegant best on Friday.

He fired a polised 67 to move up the order to T23. Arjun Prasad was also solid through the round, producing a controlled 69.

While two-time Hero Indian Open Winner, SSP Chawrasia has skipped the event, there are 13 Indians in the fray this week. Bhullar, Kapur, Shubhankar Sharma, Jeev, S. Chikkarangappa, Chirag Kumar, Rahil Gangjee, Himmat Rai, Sujjan Singh, Shankar Das, Honey Baisoya, Khalin Joshi and Arjun Prasad are in the field.
