SSP tied 5th in Indonesian Masters

A bogey-less 66 by SSP Chowrasia of India at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has placed him among top contenders of the title after halfway round

April 25, 2014: A bogey-less 66 by SSP Chowrasia of India at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters has placed him among top contenders of the title after halfway round. Chowrasia, who shot 71 in the opening round, tightened his loose ends to shoot six birdies on Friday at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.

 

Meanwhile, Lin Wen Tang of Taipei shot fine 64 to add to his first round score of 69 to lie at the top of the leaderboard with 10-under. Tang stays two-shot ahead of three, Chapchai Nirat of Thailand, Nicholas Fung of Malaysia and Cameron Smith of Australia, who share joint second place with total score of 136.

 

Chowrasia is tied 5th on the leader board after scoring seven-under 137, three shots behind leader.

 

Anirban Lahiri  too fought strong to card a fine 69 in round two of the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters. He settled for 10th position on the leaderboard after shooting five under as the day’s game is still in progress. Lahiri’s two rounds (70-69) totaled to 139, five shot behind leader Lin Wen Tang of Taipei.

 

Rashid Khan is currently placed 17th after shooting a card of second consecutive 70 on second day of US $750,000 event. Jyoti Randhawa too came back strong and shot 68 on Friday to lie at 17th with two round total of 140.  Rahil Gangjee joined the duo to share 17th place as he made another 70 on day two at Indonesian Masters.

 

Seasoned Arjun Atwal slipped from his first round pace as he carded a 74 on Friday to total his score par 144. Sujjan Singh too scaled down the leaderboard after making three bogeys on back nine. He scored 74 in addition to 68 in the opening round to finish halfway round with two-under 144.
