Anirban's Wife Ipsa Jamwal

May 31, 2014. Anirban Lahiri’s wedding this weekend in Pune is all set to fire the young golfer into marital bliss making 2014 especially memorable for Lahiri as he ties the knot just a few weeks after his first victory on foreign soil. Lahiri who has won thrice in India picked the Indonesian Open title to make it his fourth win but first overseas on the Asian Tour leading himself on top of the merit and money charts. But what’s truly put him on top of the world is getting married to long time ladylove Ipsa Jamwal. Golfingindian.com brings you a peek into who Jamwal is and how Lahiri is excited about travelling with her for the next six months on an extended honeymoon.

The petite 25-year old Jammu girl Ipsa Jamwal is born into an armed forces family and grew up in Pune, just few hours outside of Mumbai. Like Anirban, Ipsa did her initial schooling in army schools and went to the Army School Pune before doing her specialization in management studies from Symbiosis, Pune. Until recently she was an Assistant Manager, Marketing Communications at Wipro in Bangalore.

Sources share that Ipsa loves to cook and is fond of good music, a passion she shared with her husband Lahiri. Her favorite athlete is her fiancée Anirban Lahiri now but she was head over heels earlier for Brett Lee. Lahiri confirmed – in lighter vein- to golfingindian.com that Ipsa had a change of heart from Lee to Lahiri after meeting the young golfer and seeing his brilliance at golf. Ipsa naturally ardently follows the Asian Tour, where Lahiri has won and displayed some prolific golf.

Otherwise quiet and a lady of few words, Ipsa is a fond reader. She loves the fantasy series of Harry Potter, is inspired by The Alchemist and you would also find Sidney Sheldon novels, The Celestine Prophecy on her bookshelf. Her music choices are mostly western (and we say well-picked!) as she likes Linkin Park, House Music, Black Eyed Peas.

She likes her tv time when she can get it and also picks Aamir Khan rom-coms among her favourites. Aamir Khan’s blockbuster, Dil Chahta Hai which was a movie of three friends on holiday in Goa is one she likes a lot. Among tv series, ‘How I met your mother’, ‘Spongebob SquarePants’, Meredith Grey’s Quotes are her best pass time serials.

As Ipsa embarks on a new journey with her friend and love, Lahiri she is looking forward to some great travels (we hear Iceland is also one of them). The first stop for Lahiri’s Queen is set to be the Queen’s Cup next week in the lovely resort of Koh Samui giving the newly weds enough reason and time to enjoy the pretty place aside of golfing.
