Sept 24, 2013. Neha Tripathi is back on familiar territory and that’s staying ahead of the competition. During the Delhi leg of the Women’s Golf Pro Tour, Tripathi finished even par 72 in the first round to lead the tournament. Crucial birdies on 15th and 18th helped her keep a stroke ahead of the next best player Vani Kapoor.
By all means Vani was the birdie queen of the day with four birdies, three of which came during the front nine. With 73 she is as close as it gets to the leader and holds good chance over the next few days.
Simi Mehra, hot favourite to win this played a round of 74 hot on the heels of her victory last week in Srinagar, J&K where she enthralled audiences by grabbing the trophy in a three way playoff.
Vandana Agarwal and Ankita Tiwana were next at 4th and 5th positions.
Sharmila Nicollet back from her Ladies European Tour events wrapped a round of 77 with a birdie on the 4th.
The INR 5,00,000 event is being played at the historic Delhi Golf Club from the 24th – 26th of September 2013. The Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 comprises a total of fourteen legs spanning across key locations in India.
