Noida, Sept 24: Bangalore lad Trishul Chinnappa, fresh from his victory at the Tata Steel Southern India Amateur in his home town, shot a 2-under par 70 to put his state Karnataka ‘A’ into the lead at the end of the opening round of the Tata Steel Inter-state Amateur golf championship being played at the Noida Golf Course here on Tuesday. Karnataka were helped by a level par 72 from Syed Saqib Ahmed as they registered a total of 142.
Haryana ‘B’ were lying second with a total of 143 with contributions from Ankur Chadha (70) and Manav Das (73). Karnataka ‘B’ were third at 144 with the help of Jaibir Singh’s 71 and Udayan Mane’s 73.
