March 10, 2014: After winning the fourth leg of Hero Women Pro golf Tour at home, Sharmila Nicollet will tee at Lalla Meryem Cup, being held in Agadir, Morocco from March 13 to 16.
Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi, who will be participating in Ladies European Tour (LET) event on Sponsor’s invitation, will accompany Nicollet.
Bangalore’s Nicollet is the only Indian on LET. She played seven LET events in 2013 and made two cuts with her career best result tied 17th at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. In 2012, her rookie year on the LET, Sharmila played in 16 tournaments and made 3 cuts with a season-best tied 36th at the South African Women’s Open. Season’s earnings were €5,425.98 (134). She returned to Final Stage Lalla Aicha Tour School where she finished tied 17th, earning her full card for the 2013 LET season in category 8a.
Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi, adjudged as best Indian pro last year, will be part of the event on a special invitation by the tour sponsors. She shared her excitement of being part of her first LET event with golfingindian.com.
“I am so glad to be here and I do hope this event would go off brilliantly for me,”said Neha.
With a prize purse of 450,000 euros, LET’s Lalla Meryem Cup will host strong field of 126 contenders from across the world.
