May 2, 2014: Determined Rahil Gangjee fired five under 67 on day two at The Championship to lie two shot behind the overnight leader Panuphol Pittayarat  to enter weekend. Panuphol added a 68 to first round score of 63 to extend his lead into the third round of The Championship.

Gangjee picked up well in second round after he completed his day one score as best among Indians with six under-66 on Friday. His two day score totals (66,67) to 133.

The 36-year-old from Kolkata could not complete his round on Thursday due to darkness,  and lied five-under along with Aniraban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha Singh at the end of the day.

On a hunt for second Asian Tour title  after  Volkswagen  Masters in 2004,  Rahil stands at 11 under after firing nine birdies against a double bogey on back 16th and two bogeys on Friday.

Scot Hend of Australia and Aguilar Felipe  of Chile, Lipsky David of US  share second  spot at $ 1.5 million event at Laguna National course. Hend two rounds (67,65) add to 132, same as Felipe (65,67). While, Lipsky  made 68 on Friday to add up with his first round 64.

Meanwhile, SSP Chowrasia has added another 68 to his first round score of 68 to settle at eight -under and tied 15th on the leader board.

Anirban Lahiri was not in his best form on Friday when he carded two-under 70 in halfway round to total up (67,70) 137 and lie at 24th place. His six birdies and an eagle on fifteenth were not enough to cover up loss generated by two double bogeys on fifth and eighth besides two bogeys.

Jeev Mikha Singh carded a 72 on Friday to his first round 67 to slip to 48th place on the leader board. Chirag Kumar shared 48th position with Jeev after carding (69, 70).

Digvijay Singh(68, 73), Rashid Khan(72,70), Shiv Kapur(74,68), Himmat Rai (76,68), Jyoti Randhawa (77,72) will miss the cut at Laguna National.
