Raksha Phadke repeated her Day 2 stellar performance on the final day as well, emerging as the winner of the Usha Southern India

June 05, 2014: Raksha Phadke repeated her Day 2 stellar performance on the final day as well, emerging as the winner of the Usha Southern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2014. Raksha stitched together a string of 6 birdies (5 on the front 9 and one on the back 9) and 2 bogeys to score a total of 214 to win the championship.

Trailing behind by 5 strokes was Tvesa Malik who finished with a total score of 219. Her score at the end of day today was PAR 72, carding just 1 birdie and 1 bogey. Tvesa, currently placed at the 8th position in the Order of Merit list of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Tour, displayed a fairly consistent performance in this tournament.

 

The third position was jointly snatched by Vrishali Sinha and Aditi Ashok. They ended the day with a final score of 220, trailing by 1 stroke behind Tvesa Malik. Seher Atwal secured the 4th position with a total score of 221.

 

Other notable names in the top 10 included Astha Madan and Ridhima Dilawari (223), Gauri Monda (224), Siddhi Kapoor and Millie Saroha (225). This was the second tournament of the Usha Ladies & Junior Golf Open Championship played over 54 holes, over 3 days, in stroke pay format. Raksha Phadke and Tvesa Malik will be the golfers to look forward to in the upcoming zonal tour
