May 28, 2014. The Nordea Masters is the big tournament on the European Tour that is coming up this week in Sweden. It is quite something to look forward to as we have both the legendary golfer Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur, who recently qualified for the US Open, represent India in this tour. For Shiv Kapur, this year has been quite a good one with him earning prize money in a series of tournaments since January . He assured his entry into the Nordea Masters in the 13th Category , by being within the top 15 in final European Challenge Tour rankings in 2013. Singh on the other hand has been lying low for sometime now with a world ranking below 600.

The 24th Edition of the Nordea Masters of European Tour held in Sweden, will see some of the toughest contest between players of different nations is set to offer a prize purse of 1,500,000 euros with the winner getting to bag 250,000 euros. Playing from his hometown, Jonas Blixt will be one of those players to be watched out for in this tournament. Last year, he had come second in this event. Mikko Ilonen has been defending the PGA Tour title and will be definitely one of the biggest draws of this event. Henrik Stentson , who is currently holding the rank of being the second in the world ranking, is another player to watch out for in this particular game. Shane Lowry is also a strong contestant considering his commendable performance in the BMW Championship.

PGA Sweden National Lake’s Courses will be the venue for the challenging contest of Nordea Masters. The course is an 18 holes one spread over 600 yards with par 5. The challenge remains in the bunker placed cleverly at a driving distance and the waiting water on the left side. This makes the threat more intense especially in the 18th hole, that will serve as a classic and significant finishing hole.

One of the reasons why this event is important for the Indian players is because both Singh and Kapur had missed the cut in the recently played BMW championship and this could be a good comeback for the Indian golf community. It would be really interesting to see how both of them perform at Sweden.
