Royal Springs, Srinagar, Sept 19. India’s veteran women’s pro golfer Simi Mehra today won the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour in Srinagar in a three way playoff with Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi and Delhi’s Vani Kapoor at the picturesque Royal Springs Golf Course. At the end of the round today all three had played to a two over and that triggered a playoff. The INR 7,00,000 event was played from the 17th – 19th of September 2013 and saw a tough fight for the top honours in the Hero Order of Merit 2013.

Smriti Mehra has been hoping to consolidate her position as the leader in the Hero Order of Merit 2013. Experience got the better of the player and Simi, as she is fondly called kept her nerve till the very end. Now with this win Smriti would leap frog over Neha Tripathi from Kolkata. Until the last update, Neha with a total earning of INR 7,49,400 in her kitty from nine appearances and four wins on the tour has an advantage of INR 74,400 over Smriti.

 

Sharmila Nicollet who was nursing an ankle injury will miss out playing the 10th leg due to her schedule on the Ladies European Tour this year. The Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 comprises a total of fourteen legs spanning across key locations in India.
