July 29, 2013. American Brand Snedeker’s win at Canadian Open this Sunday was dedicated to his Caddie Scott Vail, a Canadian native. Scoring a remarkable win at the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday by three strokes, Snedekar was extremely happy for his caddie and himself.

“I’m just ecstatic,” Snedeker said, reflecting on his sixth PGA TOUR victory. “This is a tournament I said early on in my career I wanted to win just because my caddie is from Canada and it’s his national open. It meant a lot to him and it meant a lot to me. It’s the third oldest tournament on TOUR and it’s got some great history to it, and now to put my name on that trophy it means a lot.”

The win for Snedeker was assured on Saturday when overnight leader Hunter Mahan opted to withdraw to attend the arrival of his first baby girl at home. Snedeker made four birdies to go along with two bogeys for a 2-under 70. That was good enough to notch his second victory of the season and sixth of his career.

“I hung in there really well and made the key putts I needed to and I was able to survive,” said Snedeker, the reigning FedEx Cup champion who, with the win, moves up one spot to No. 3 in the 2013 FedEx Cup standings.

Mahan, who chose to forego $ 1 million challenge to pick another reward, is back home enjoying the company of his newborn little girl.
