Dec 30, 2014. The most prolific golfer of our era turns 39 today. As he blows another candle on his cake today, Tiger Woods will have plenty to ponder over before he can make his wish. Here is a cheat sheet to help the golfer off the tee with a flourish.

Wish # 1 – Health

The joints have been groaning and the muscles moaning as Woods has been trying to keep his pieces together. Once considered the fittest golfer on the planet, the American has suffered from a series of injuries that have derailed his efforts to return to the top. Good health will be on the top of his mind when he blows that birthday candle.

Wish # 2 – Consistency

Woods has been struggling for rhythm for the past few years. Even when he seemed to recover some of his midas touch, it has been a fleeting interaction that wouldn’t even last a full round of golf. Tiger can surely do with some consistency around the course.

Wish # 3 – Victory

The perennial favourite everywhere he went, has been often left to wonder what he needs to do for making the cut and stay through the weekend. The Tiger hasn’t tasted blood in a while now and an early victory in 2015 will be just what the doctor ordered to try and turn his fortunes around.

Wish # 4 – Friends

Tiger has seemed increasingly lonely in recent years, ever since his personal life imploded into a series of innuendo filled revelations related to his sex life. He has lost an entire team of professionals that were assisting him for much of his career. While most of it has been the result of his own hubris, Woods does seem eager to reconstruct his life. He can surely use a few friends who are more than fair weather allies.

Wish # 5 – Another major title

After having set the marker beyond normal through years of success, an ordinary PGA Tour victory will just not cut it for Woods. The golfer believes he still has what it takes to chase the holy grail of 18, set by Jack Nicklaus. A fifteenth major title would take him one step closer to that dream. More importantly, it will help silence the chorus of commentators eager to call the epitaph for Tiger.
