Usha South: Raksha Phadke leads

Bengaluru, June 04, 2014: Raksha Phadke displayed a stellar performance by stitching together a string of 5 birdies on the front 9 and 1 birdie on the back 9 to card a 3 under 69, at the end of Day 2 to reach a Round 1 and Round 2 combined score of 146. A double bogie on the 7th hole and a bogey on the 15th hole could not mar her overall performance for the day.

Trailing behind Raksha by two strokes was Tvesa Malik with a score of one under 71. A fairly consistent player of the day, Tvesa, currently placed at the 8th position in the Order of Merit list of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Tour, managed to sink 2 birdies and another two bogies to reach a Round 1 and Round 2 combined score of 147.

Day 1 joint leader Millie Saroha shared a joint second position today along with Seher Atlwal and Tvesa Malik, at the end of Day 2 of the Usha Southern India Ladies and Junior Girls Golf Championship, 2014. Seasoned golfers Aditi Ashok and Gauri Monga, currently placed at 3rd position and 2nd position respectively in the Order of Merit list of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Ladies Tour, finished Round 2, lying at a joint 3rd position. Aditi Ashok scored a PAR 72 and Gauri Monga returned a card of a whooping 6 over 75 in the Round 2. Aditi and Gauri’s Day 1 & 2 combined score is 149.

Joint leader of Day 1 with Millie Saroha, Gaurika Bishnoi – finished Round 2, sharing a joint 4th position with Ridhima Dilawari. The final day tomorrow therefore promises to be intriguing and highly competitive.

Other notable names in the top 10 included Vidushi Sinha, Siddhi Kapoor, Vrishali Sinha and Amandeep Drall (151), Astha Madan (152) and Nishtha Madan (153).
